Went down to the Melbourne art fair on Saturday...
brilliant this year,
the energy was fantastic, and the work so energising.
My favorites this year were Del Kathryn, Evan Penny's 'self stretch' was literally mind blowing, Dale Hickey was a pleasure to look at, and one of my older favorites from the street art and graffiti days, Rys Lee's work is still a real pleasure. Still own some of his designed schwipe t shirts and jumpers. Very nice stuff really all round. Put a bit of fire in the engine to get this work cracked out for the next show.. of course things can never been done quick enough.

New
Time certainly gets away.. I've been working on the next two solo projects which are looking to happen later this year,
a bit different to the previous body of work, and has taken me a little while to get my head around conceptually,
off and running now. Don't want to give to much away at this stage, except to say that smaller moments have been given new meaning in the past month and have propelled me to give greater focus to these areas. I'll also be contributing a couple of pieces to a group show that will be happening on the 29th of July.

The two John Brack pieces I did in 2009 sold yesterday, I'm going to do a bit of a post on John Brack and his show from 2009. His art work has been a great influence on me, and seeing the body of work at the NGV last year led to the these two pieces. Four of his paintings appear in the back ground, and the foreground has influence and reference to a couple of his works. Ironically his Collins street painting has a similar composition, I believe sub consciously this was done on purpose. His paintings feet quite nostalgic and have a great sense of family and community. He is a continual influence, and I think Melbourne is lucky to have such heritage in such a great Artist.
